On Friday, July 5th, at the Aula Magna of the IE University in Segovia, a graduation from a special promotion of Ie Business School Master took place. 32 executives from one of the brightest medical equipment company, based in Saudi Arabia, got to the finish line after 13 stressful and committed months.

Santiago Iniguez, Dean of IE Business School, opened and closed a ceremony held on the magnificent venue of Ie in Segovia. Graduates then listened to Professor Fernando Barnuevo special conference. Professor Barnuevo, Managing Director RJHI / Kleinwort Benson, for many years at PwC, Chairman of the IE Foundation in the United States, took the poem If, by Rudyard Kipling, as the pilar of his "Why Not" approach to the audience.

The event closed brilliantly with the final speeches of Prof.Tasso Christie, Program Orchestrator of this GMC Master, and Dr. Ismail Ahmed, the person that 30 years ago, back in 1983, had the vision to lift this company as a true reference in its business domain. The words of Dr. Ismail, dedicated to their executives, represented a strong leadership example of High Performance environment. In the faces of the graduates could we observed, throughout the speech, a mix of great respect for the person who guides them professionally, as well as the responsibility to facing the challenges ahead.

After nearly a decade providing our TSC BEST methodology to their different intakes, each collaboration with IE Business School means a lot to our company. Furthermore, we have perceived how the hard work of many teachers impacts into the heart of a developing company. A company with a very strong and successful leadership on top.

When I started Gulf Medical Company in 1983, I had a vision to bring the most innovative and state-of-the-art medical technology to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. For the first time in the Middle East, Gulf Medical has introduced the Robotic Surgical technology at the King Khaled University Hospital Riyadh (KKUH), the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center Riyadh, King Fahad Specialist Hospital Dammam, King Abdul Aziz university Hospital Jeddah (KAUHJ) and King Fahad National Guard Hospital Riyadh (KFNGH) where all operations were conducted successfully.

For the first time in the Middle East, we have successfully introduced OR-1 Systems at King Faisal Specialist & Research Center Riyadh, ARAMCO Dhahran, King Khaled University Hospital Riyadh, five new OR-1 Systems at the King Fahd National Guard Hospitals in Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Hofuf, we installed 8 OR-1 rooms at King Fahad Hospital Gizan and 8 rooms at King Fahd Hospital Jeddah & we are now installing 8 more rooms at King Abdul Aziz University Hospital Jeddah in addition to 4 New rooms at King Khaled University Hospital Riyadh. During 2008/2009 we installed OR-1 14 rooms at the King Abdullah Medical City in Mena. We completed the 8 rooms at Aseer Central Hospital, in addition to the 4 rooms at King Faisal Specialist Hospital Jeddah.

Gulf Medical installed the First CyberKnife Radio Surgery System in the Middle East at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center in Riyadh, & we are expecting 2 more system installations during this year. The great business development of Carl Zeiss, Maquet Surgical Work Place, Getinge & Maquet Critical Care did enhance our market leader position in the area & will help in keeping the momentum of the steady yearly double digit growth for some years to come.

The Service department is taking a lot of the higher management attention to make sure we are exceeding our customers expectations.

Human resource development being the core of GMC’s investment in the past few years, GMC always makes sure that they recruit highly professional, dedicated and multilingual workforce of biomedical engineers and health care specialists.
